How long does a property transfer take in South Africa?
On average, 8–12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the transaction and the speed of the Deeds Office and municipality.
Who chooses the transferring attorney - buyer or seller?
In most cases, the seller nominates the transferring attorney, unless otherwise agreed.
Can I transfer a property that's part of a deceased estate?
Yes, but the estate must first be wound up and the Master’s approval obtained before the transfer can proceed.
What is the difference between a sectional title and full title property?
Full title gives you ownership of the land and buildings; sectional title gives you ownership of a unit and shared ownership of common property.
